The video studio in MidiMagic Studio grew out of my desire to expand my digital recording, but not wait for the prices of hard disk recording to come down to a reasonable cost. So I got into video while I waited because I had a fascination with computer animation and video editing technology.
Although this is not a high end digital video editing system, some outstanding video and effects can be achieved throughout production and maintained to final video master tape.
Since this system is also integrated with the audio portion of MidiMagic, the audio combined with video is fantastic. And with the Mac we have now added more video capabilities, with real time video digitizing, editing and manipulation with Photoshop video editing software and support for Quicktime movies.
The heart of the video suite is a surprise! An Atari computer, which I have incorporated a video digitizer and a genlock syncing device. That lets you take your digitized video or still images and computer animation, then put it over the top of your video foreground or you can put your computer images behind the video background. This is good for a variety of effects that are MTV worthy, which is what the video end of MidiMagic was originally created for shooting MTV style videos. We also use all this stuff for graphics and titling for a wide variety of other video needs. From weddings to corporate training videos to even insurance inventory or anything else you can dream up. Perhaps an award winning web site?
For a typical video shoot we might use 3 different cameras and then choose what scenes and shots that we want to edit together, in sequence via the video editor. This will be recorded down to a final tape and we will be using a video effects generator to cut or fade from shot to shot or scene to scene. We master the video to a Sony Digital Stereo/Hi-Fi Stereo Video
Cassette Recorder that allows you to use your original audio tracks and keep them without recording over the original audio tracks, Then you may record two extra PCM stereo tracks. So for your master video you can use either the original audio tracks or your newly recorded PCM stereo tracks, or both. Hoping to satisfy all your video needs we can also record to CD-ROM, leaving it only up to your imagination what you would like to produce with all this video and audio magic.
